Music Now & Next

03 Jul 2022n02:00PM - nthe Kennedys - Weekly Live Stream

Jason Roach is perhaps best known as the thunderous keyboard guy with Coig, but he's an outstanding visual artist too. Have a look at Outer Strathspace Folk Art for an otherworldly mix of bird-sea-music something. I like it so much I even overlook someone's penchant for referring to various bird species as "seagull."

They're Back! Lots of LAMPS concerts through the summer too!

CB Music in Transition

New format, new purpose, new errors, same old Fred. What you see now is transitional as I've only started to learn Joomla! 4 (geek stuff). I'll be publishing the first CB Music Notes in a year, soon. Very soon. Subscribe so you won't miss any of my musical ravings. Enjoy the videos - more coming - and see the events schedule. Lots of LAMPS, SummerKeys is back, PBSO... scurrying to get everything updated!

June 2022

LAMPS is ramping up with all sorts of music planned for the season. Follow the LAMPS link above or even better, join this rapidly growing organization and help keep the Lubec area music community thriving!

Given that stress levels are at global highs, I'm offering here some of my favorite stress-reducing, relaxing, and inspiring videos. Seriously, they are my "goto" sanctuaries when I feel my spring's wound too tight. You can find more on the CB Music YouTube channel.

The Paul Winter Consort

Paul Winter's Solstice Celebrations are magnificent (June 18!), and we cheer when he starts to introduce Nikki and Lucky -- Watch and see why.

Missa Gaia

I would like to do video of all of Paul's work - or wish someone else would. At least the entire Missa Gaia. Wrote my philosophy paper on it long ago. Of course I got an "A". It's a great work - the music, I mean, not my paper. I might post the paper on my Easternmost Fred site someday.

Eugene Friesen and Elizabeth Rogers

I hesitate to describe my favorite things as "favorite" or "best" because those terms imply a hierarchy and somehow imply exclusion of all the other wonderful parts of life. This is especially true of the music performances at Crow Town Gallery. You can watch all the others on the channel and judge for yourself. Nevertheless, I also recall how overwhelmed I was by the reaction of the audiences to Liz and Eugene's concerts. Still overwhelmed.

Putep’s Tale: The Lost Finback Whale of Lubec, Maine

Putep's Tale, by Rhonda Welcome and Chuck Kniffen, tells the true tale of a finback whale that washed up on the shore of Lubec, Maine and how it has become a part of the community.
